Title: Human Security and Social Equity Specialist Researcher

The West Asia-North Africa Institute is a leading think-tank focused on human security, social equity, and sustainable development, seeks an experienced researcher to join the Human Security and Social Justice Pillar.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct high-quality research on various topics on social justice, including but not limited to gender balancing and gender mainstreaming, social protection, vulnerable communities' self-reliance, women’s economic empowerment, inclusion of refugees in the formal labour market, and community security.
2. Write comprehensive reports and policy papers based on research findings.
3. Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to develop and implement projects.
4. Present findings at conferences, workshops, and other public events.
5. Contribute to the development of funding proposals and grant applications.
Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in social science, anthropology, women’s studies, international studies, conflict resolution or any related field. Advanced degree preferred.
2. At least three years of experience in the development sector, including working with civil society organisations, community-based organisations, international organisations, not-for-profit, think tanks, or academia.
3. Passionate about advancing human rights, working with local communities, and striving for social equity.
4. Excellent communication and writing skills, both written and verbal, in Arabic and English.
5. Self-directed, can perform tasks with minimum supervision.
Skills:
1. Experience in social media engagement and advocacy campaigns is preferred but not required.
2. Detail-oriented and strong time management and organisational skills.
