Enhancing Dialogue and Partnership between Academia and UNHCR on Regional Displacement Crises

On 14 May 2018, the WANA Institute is partnering with UNHCR in organising the second regional roundtable event on Enhancing Dialogue and Partnership between Academia and UNHCR on Regional Displacement Crises. The event is a follow-up of last year’s roundtable during which renowned professors discussed the importance of refugees’ access to higher education, and how academic research can feed into policy development and humanitarian planning.

The academic roundtable aims to understand the role of academia in responding to the humanitarian/displacement crisis, identify how and when to engage, as well as identify the channels academia can use to act as conveners between stakeholders, governments and humanitarian organisations to better influence the responses to the needs of displaced persons, refugees and host communities.
