The project aims to empower 20 Jordanian young persons to advocate for SDGs 5, 11, and 16 through using mobile phone filmmaking.
Activities:

WANA will conduct the selection of 20 Jordanian trainees, based on pre-determined criteria. Trainees are 18 -30 of age. Trainees are from the Balqa Governorate.

WANA will be holding a training workshop for 20 youth on SDGs 5, 11, and 16, with special focus on national positions on the SDGs and exposure to their implementation locally. The training will also focus on technical skills and hands-on experience with filming and photography (through the use of their smart phones). The training will address various communication channels (print, TV .. etc) to spread and advocate their messages.

The trainees will produce 10 short videos or photo stories (2 youth in each group) containing with a caption about a local community issue relating to the SDGs 5, 11, and 16.

A jury of WANA and ADF will select the best 3 videos based on pre-determined criteria.

Three groups (6 winners) will travel to Sweden for an exchange visit to meet Swedish students and present their local realities and learn about the realities in Sweden. They will also receive training from professional Swedish experts in creative communication.

WANA will invite stakeholders to a roundtable policy dialogue meeting during which the voices of youth are captured by presenting their perspective on the local application of the SDGs.
