This project aims to increase the skills of young people to advocate about the issues facing young women and persons with disabilities (PwD) in Jordan and actively contribute to policy-making.
Through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) project, the WANA Institute will equip 24 young people (ages 22 through 30) in the Amman governorate with the necessary skills to develop analytical reports and practical solutions for pressing issues that contribute to the social and economic exclusion of young women and persons with disabilities. The target group will be provided with critical thinking, writing, communication, research, creativity, problem solving, teamwork, presentation, and leadership skills so they can become active members of society.
While the project activities will be focused on the capacity-building of individual youth, the outcomes and recommendations from the trainings will be disseminated to a wide variety of local and international stakeholders at the institutional level. The WANA Institute will develop a set of tools and resources to assess learning levels and needs and engage stakeholders on issues related to youth citizenship.
