This chapter explores the climate-water-food nexus in the Mediterranean during 2025, a year of severe drought, record heat, wildfires and marine heatwaves across the region. It argues that climate, water and food form a single interlinked system, and managing them separately risks backfiring. To move forward, the chapter highlights the importance of climate-resilient water infrastructure, demand-side efficiency, binding transboundary cooperation, and targeted adaptation finance, all through inclusive, integrated governance.
