Ministerial Strategy Recommendation Meeting on Sustainable Development Goal 7

On May 16, the WANA Institute and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) hosted a Ministerial Strategy Recommendation Meeting on Sustainable Development Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy for All. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from several ministries and others in the energy field to discuss the challenges and opportunities of implementing SDG 7 in Jordan. It provided a platform to explore and recommend ways forward for national implementation. The outcome of this meeting will be translated into guidance notes to help demystify the goal setting, implementation and achievement process to be published later this year. For more information, please read the press release.

The WANA Institute and FES aim to build momentum and provide guidance on how to tackle the challenges associated with inter-sectorial goals through the project 'Pathways Towards the Sustainable Development Goals: Jordan and Beyond'. The project commenced with a regional conference in April 2017, which will now be followed-up with a series of meetings targeting certain SDGs.
