On Monday 12 to Tuesday 13 October 2015, the WANA Institute, in collaboration with the German Development Agency (GIZ) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), held a conference on the newly announced Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and their impact on water and natural resources management in the region. The meeting will gather policy-makers, scholars, environmental practitioners, and civil society organizations at the King Hussein Club, Amman. The conference encouraged interdisciplinary discussion and privided a platform for brainstorming modalities for enhancing sustainable development cooperation in the context of regional challenges, including water insecurity, climate change and arid lands management. The event featured several high level guest speakers from the region and international organisations directly involved in the SDG process, as well as a keynote address by Her Royal Highness, Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, who delivered the keynote speech on behalf of her father, HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal
